La oportunidad

 

The IT Operations Center Administrator is responsible for monitoring Gildan’s global systems and software applications. The incumbent will ensure that systems and applications are operating as expected, helping with monitoring all data backups, and batch schedules. A deep technical knowledge, combined with an understanding of business unit processes and their interdependencies, is required to initiate corrective actions when necessary. Additionally, this role supports Gildan’s global data centers, performing a wide range of duties that help maintain smooth operations across the organization. 

 

The Roles

  • Monitor and troubleshoot software applications and IT business processes.
  • Perform proactive monitoring to identify performance bottlenecks, errors, or failures in critical applications.
  • Collaborate with business users and IT teams to analyze recurring issues, recommend improvements, and optimize processes.
  • Manage and resolve technical incidents in a timely manner. Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate IT teams and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
  • Follow established incident management procedures to ensure efficient triage, resolution, and service restoration.
  • Provide clear, concise, and timely communication to stakeholders on incident status, root causes, and resolution timelines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of operations and regularly update infrastructure policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all operational runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides are kept current and accessible to relevant teams.
  • Review and revise infrastructure policies and procedures to align with compliance standards and industry best practices.
  • Assist with backup monitoring, restoration, and offsite tape transfers.
  • Validate daily/weekly backup jobs, investigate failures.
  • Coordinate offsite tape transfers with vendors and maintain proper tracking to ensure data availability and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Monitor data center equipment, including generators, and UPS systems.
  • Report anomalies and escalate potential risks to ensure uninterrupted operations.

 

The Requirements

  • Education: IT or similar, Or equivalent experience 
  • Experience: Experience in NOC IT Required, min 3 years 
  • Languages: Bilingual Required (English-Spanish) 
  • Technical Problem-Solving: Is usually confronted with a variety and diversity of complex problems which need to be analyzed before it is possible to select the appropriate solution(s) 
  • Identifying inefficiencies in support processes and implementing changes to improve speed and quality of service. 
  • Global Coordination: Coordinating IT support across multiple time zones and regions, ensuring consistent service quality.
